After 8 months of dating
This isn’t a blog post telling you that the way I married my significant other is superior to the way you did. Our story is not what most would consider normal in today’s day and age. Each guy I have dated has been very different from the last.
It’s just that…some stories are more culturally accepted as normal.
He and his girlfriend were on a break at the time, and my boyfriend was living in another country. But I remember our friends at the wedding looking at us and thinking…That night he told me he loved me and that he was going to marry me. Before he passed away he was married 5 times, to 4 different women. Divorced her when I was 6 then remarried her shortly after. You know that you are not right for each other and you’re wasting your time. What we had was beautiful and we didn’t want it to change.
I wondered why I hadn’t met him before since we seemed to be in the same friend circle. He brought me a bouquet of sunflowers and took me to one of the best restaurants in town. The next day I moved back into my mom’s place for the Summer until I figured out my next move. They divorced again when I was 10.]My dad knew from personal experience that it wasn’t about the wedding, it’s about the marriage. Some people decide to get married after having been through all of these things while dating. Why not get married when we are in the honeymoon phase of our relationship?
He ended up staying the night and came back the next afternoon after he had done some things.
Now to my problem - that night he tells me he wants a baby.
Are his insecurities about us breaking up making him want a baby with me?
We are madly in love but that could also be the "honeymoon period" ...We didn’t have a registry, receive thousands of dollars, monogrammed towels or knife sets. It’s Don’t feel like you need to do what society expects of you in order to have a lasting, healthy marriage or relationship. We are lucky to live in a country in which you can do whatever you want. If that is how your marriage worked, then that’s awesome! If your gut tells you its right, then listen to it. I knew I told him the truth at the time, but turns it around and blames my bad memory for not remembering correctly. Then he got very angry and said "I bought you cigarettes, I bought you drinks at the pub and I just bought you wine - why are you complaining? I had it in my head he was buying me off - which he was.He came back about 5am the next morning, completely obliterated, having taken drugs for the first time in a long time - he'd been to a club that he apparently hates.
